The Importance of Addressing Bed Bug Infestations

  • Protect Health and Well-being

Experts point out that bed bugs have a stronger survival capability than mosquitoes, and they consume 7 times more human blood than mosquitoes do, with each feeding lasting from 3 to 10 minutes. Therefore, the bites from bed bugs are itchier and more likely to cause insomnia. A study previously published in the Journal of the American Medical Association stated that the disturbance caused by bed bugs might lead to psychological distress, such as nightmares, flashbacks, heightened vigilance, insomnia, anxiety or even avoidance behavior.

  • Prevent the Rapid Spread of Bed Bugs

Bed bugs do not only appear in the summer but are active all year round! Adult bed bugs do not hibernate and have a lifespan of about one year. They can hide in the smallest habitats, including clothing, personal items, luggage, and second-hand furniture, and spread through these means. The increase in travel frequency gives bed bugs opportunities to go worldwide via planes, cars, trains, or ships. Moreover, many of them have evolved resistance to various insecticides, which are our main line of defense. Since the emergence of bed bugs can quickly become uncontrollable, all homes, businesses, and communities must not underestimate the crisis of bed bug spread.

  • Avoid Costly Infestations and Damage

Many readily available bed bug extermination products on the market, if used improperly, can increase bed bugs' resistance and harm health. Therefore, once bed bugs are detected, it is recommended to hire a professional pest control team to exterminate them. Some households may even replace mattresses, furniture, bedding, curtains, and clothing to avoid any oversights, bearing unnecessary financial and emotional costs. For businesses, the presence of bed bugs not only brings psychological pressure to employees but also affects daily operations. Some businesses like restaurants and hotels might receive negative online reviews, damaging consumer confidence. Not only business could be affected but it requires resources to rebuild reputation.

Not Any Natural Oils but 100% Natural Rosemary Oils

Rosemary essential oil comes from the Rosmarinus shrub and has been used for decades as a potent insect repellent and killer. Containing various active components like α pinene, eucalyptol, borneol and linalool, it is a herb that is known for its strong scent and antioxidant properties. The scent of rosemary is thought to be irritating to bed bugs, causing them to stay away from areas where it is present.

Studies confirm rosemary’s incredible insect control capabilities. In a research study by Feldlaufer and Ulrich (2015) in which many different essential oils were tested and explored for mortality against bed bugs, rosemary oil emerged as the most effective natural alternative. While other essential oils like cinnamon, lemongrass, and peppermint showed potential in Petri dish experiments, they fell short in the practical trash bag trials that tested the effectiveness of continuous use for 3 to 5 days.

Rosemary oil, on the other hand, consistently killed over 99% of bed bugs in the trash bag experiments, rivaling the performance of a commercial neem oil-based product. This demonstrates rosemary oil's potential as a powerful, natural alternative to synthetic pesticides.

Why Choose Rosemary Oil:

  1. Proven Efficacy: As demonstrated by scientific research, rosemary oil is a highly effective bed bug fumigant, even in larger-scale applications.

  2. Natural and Eco-Friendly: Rosemary oil is a natural product that poses fewer risks to human health and the environment compared to synthetic pesticides.

  3. Versatile Application: Rosemary oil is also effective to repel mosquitoes, ticks, ants, cockroaches and flies.

  4. Pleasant Aroma: Unlike some synthetic pesticides, rosemary oil has a pleasant, herbal scent that won't leave your home or business smelling like harsh chemicals.

  5. Cost-Effective: As a natural product, rosemary oil can be a more affordable solution for bed bug control compared to expensive professional treatments or commercial products.
