Manson is a medical doctor, entrepreneur and philanthropist. As Chairman, he is responsible for the strategic direction and general management of the Group.

Manson is the Chairman of Virtus Medical Group, one of the largest private surgical practices in Hong Kong. He also serves as Dean at the Faculty of Medicine and President of University Hospital, both at the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). His other positions include President of the Macau Healthcare Management and Promotion Association (MHMPA); Censor-in-Chief of the World Chinese Doctors’ Association; Honorary Fellow, Chinese College of Surgeons; and Committee member, The Council of Medical Affairs in Macau SAR.

Manson is the recipient of the 2014 Gusi Peace Prize in Humanitarianism, which was awarded for his contributions to medical education, healthcare delivery and cross-border biotechnology developments. Since 2015, he was appointed CEO of the same Peace Prize Foundation to continue promoting peace, cooperation and healthcare development in the Asia-Pacific regions.

Manson received his medical degree (MBBS) from the University of Hong Kong in 1982, where he was appointed faculty in the Surgical Unit upon graduation. He has published many original research papers in high-ranking international medical journals and chapters in various academic books focusing on minimally invasive treatment for esophageal surgery.

Chief Business Officer, SoftBank Robotics Corp.

Kenichi Yoshida (“Kent”) is serving as the Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer at SoftBank Robotics, leading the SoftBank robotic project for the past 4 years since the beginning of the project. Prior to joining SoftBank Corp. he was a co-founder and COO of an enterprise software startup company called Realcom and led the company to IPO.

Kent has been working at starting new businesses in SoftBank Corp. since 2010.

Lewis joined Avalon in 2019. As Senior Vice President, he oversees the strategic direction and commercialization efforts of public health and infection control technologies. He co-founded Avalon Steritech and has served as Chief Executive Officer from its inception. He is currently leading the Company’s landmark developments including the Joint Venture with SoftBank Robotics and collaboration with MTRC.

As one of Asia’s leading IP and transactional attorneys specializing in the technology and life sciences sectors, Lewis has a strong track record in helping companies and their financial sponsors capture, manage, risk assess, evaluate and monetize their intellectual property assets.

Since 2017, Lewis has been appointed as a domain expert for Hong Kong Science & Technology Park and business advisor to Beyond Ventures.

Chief Scientific Advisor

BSc (Hons) (HKU), MPhil (HKUST), PhD (Peking)

Terence has dedicated over 20 years in technology ventures in the development and commercialization of innovative biotechnological products in the area of genetic testing and molecular diagnostics. He started his career in a renowned Swiss-based multinational company, and was then involved in setting up biotechnology companies offering innovative products and services for clinical, food and veterinary applications in relevant industries. He directed the first laboratory in Asia to obtain ISO 17025 accreditation for quantitative genetically modified organism (GMO) analysis in the early 2000s and developed over a hundred products. He also led the development of molecular avian influenza virus (AIV) detection products (including subtype H5) which were the first molecular AIV test kits that received official government regulatory approval (Japan).

Before joining Avalon, Terence was the Interim Associate Vice President (Innovation and Technology Development) and the Director of Innovation and Technology Development of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He oversaw innovation and technology related strategic initiatives, supervised research projects and led the development of the novel in-vitro diagnostic technology in collaboration with Avalon. He is currently also an Adjunct Professor at PolyU and the Hong Kong Baptist University.

Terence is currently members of the Advisory Council for Food and Environmental Hygiene, Expert Committee on Antimicrobial Resistance and the Enterprise Support Scheme and was a member of the Small and Medium Enterprise Committee, the Working Group of IP Trade, the Small Enterprise Research Assistant Programme, the GMO (Control of Release) Expert Group of the HKSAR Government and many others. He was also Senior Advisor to the United Nations Office for Project Services. He is currently a committee member of the National Committee on Biometrology of China.

Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer of Avalon Steritech, Iris oversees the day-to-day business operations of the company. She aligns priorities and ensures that the organization, including its R&D, production, procurement and supply chain functions, has the necessary connectivity and coordination to accelerate innovation and growth across all markets.

Iris has more than 15 years of experience in advanced technology, materials and engineering sectors. Prior to joining Avalon in 2021, Iris served as Corporate Development Director at Lee Kee Group, a HK-listed non-ferrous metal corporation, where she was responsible for developing and executing new ventures and transformational initiatives. Before that, Iris held leadership positions at industry leaders such as Flextronics (Global 500), Johnson Electric, and Nano and Advanced Materials Institute, and has experience across a wide range of disciplines from strategic marketing and business development to technology assessments to modelling and analytics as well as platform development.

Iris holds a B.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Hong Kong, an M.A. in Arts from the University of Chicago and an MBA from London Business School.

Finance Director

Eily joined Avalon Steritech as Finance Director in March 2021 and is responsible for leading the company’s finance & accounting functions. She currently oversees the company’s financial and cash flow management, in addition to building up its operational accounting system.

With solid experience across numerous Japanese and Korean MNCs, Eily is a qualified professional in accounting, taxation and financial management. Prior to joining Avalon, Eily served as Senior Accountant at Softbank Robotics, where she worked closely with her headquarter counterparts in Japan. In that role, she was responsible for all finance & accounting functions, which includes SAP system migration and the management of the company’s group reporting processes. Eily had also worked at Sojitz Group, LG Group and Hyundai Group.

Eily holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the Curtin University of Technology, Australia and a Diploma of Commerce in Australian Institute for University Studies, Australia. She speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Head of Human Resources

Benny oversees Human Resources & Administration at Avalon SteriTech. Her role also covers the team of IT professionals who provide services and support to the company.

Benny has 15 years of experience in human resources across industries ranging from electronics to biotechnology to chemical and media.

Benny holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University Hawaii and a Master’s degree in Counselling from the City University of Hong Kong.
