As Senior Scientific Project Manager, Roger leads the cross-functional science team at Avalon SteriTech that make use of chemical and engineering tools to develop next-generation technology in disinfection and infection control. The team also facilitate technology transfer in Avalon SteriTech, which includes innovative surface disinfection technology by autonomous systems, and durable antimicrobial technology on medical textiles.
Prior to joining Avalon in 2020, Roger worked as Technical Manager in GrafTech International Limited, a leader in the global graphite industry. He was responsible for the Asia Pacific region and contributed to multiple functional groups, ranging from field sales to business execution to quality control and production. Major projects included Hyundai, POSCO, TATA Steel, Kyoei Steel Vietnam, and InfraBuild Steel (formerly Liberty OneSteel).
Roger earned his B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research focused on organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, and artificial molecular system.
