Avalon SteriTech Establishes Strategic Partnership with MicroSafe® to Deliver Safe and Eco-friendly Disinfection Solution

7 June 2022, Hong Kong – Avalon SteriTech (“Avalon”), a global start-up specializes in infection control solutions, today announced its strategic partnership with disinfectant expert MicroSafe Group (“MicroSafe”). With the goal of protecting businesses against COVID-19 and other infectious viruses in the post-pandemic era, the partnership combines the companies’ strengths in delivering safe and powerful disinfection solutions through applying Nanocyn® Disinfectant & Sanitiser in tandem with AI-Powered disinfection robot Whiz Gambit. MicroSafe will also become the master distributor of Whiz Gambit in Australia and the United Arab Emirates.

As businesses navigate the new normal and look for effective solutions to bring back public confidence, the strategic partnership will focus on providing innovative and pioneering smart disinfection products and solutions by transforming both companies’ edges in biotechnology, healthcare, and robotics. The collaboration also aims to expand Nanocyn® and Whiz Gambit’s usage in the companies’ existing client portfolios and sales network starting from Australia, Hong Kong, and the United Arab Emirates, with the United Kingdom and the United States in sight, answering the unmet public healthcare needs.

As the only all-natural product of its kind that is certified by Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA), Nanocyn® is also recognized by Hong Kong Green Building Council as the first and only eco-product in the disinfectant category. Nanocyn® and Whiz Gambit solution offers unparalleled disinfection performance in terms of robotics reliability, bio-safety, and material safety. As a scientifically proven solution, it rapidly eliminates viruses and bacteria from all hard surfaces and also odors that are airborne. Together, they offer a wider and more consistent disinfection coverage, importantly, with less chemical consumption and achieving sustainable disinfection.

“As we are entering the new chapter of the post-pandemic era, many businesses have incorporated disinfection into their cleaning routines and this also underscored the importance of chemical safety. At Avalon, we prioritize biocidal efficacy and responsible use of chemicals leveraging the inherited advantages of robotics solutions. An eco-friendly yet sustainable disinfection protocol is undoubtedly the way forward. By partnering with MicroSafe Group, who shares the same vision to create a safe environment for all, we are excited to introduce disinfection solutions that are safe to the human, animals, and our planet,” said Mr. Lewis Ho, Chief Executive Officer of Avalon SteriTech.

“More people are learning about disinfectants, contact times, log reductions and the need to be certified in various jurisdictions. Killing a virus or bacteria is simply not good enough, a disinfectant also needs to be free of toxic ingredients. Besides rapid, 30 seconds (or faster) contact times, it is imperative that a product is safe for human, animals, the environment and also materials. Enormous damage is caused every day by disinfectants that leave toxic residues. We are excited to be able to make our groundbreaking and globally leading product available to be used around the world with our partners from Avalon Steritech who shares our vision and values of only using evidence-based technology in the fight against infections” said Mr. Matt Seifert, Managing Director of MicroSafe Care Australia.

Nanocyn® is the only 100% natural, hospital-grade disinfectant registered in Australia, Europe, and the United States and approved by Airbus, Boeing & AMS. Nanocyn® is approved to kill and eliminate over 99.999% of pathogens, bacteria, and viruses including Norovirus (Gastro), Influenza, in 30 seconds, and SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) in only 15 seconds, without any toxicity or dangers to humans, animals, the environment (including aquatic life) and materials. It has been the product of choice for major aged care, childcare, health care, hospitals, and many more and is amongst the most tested and validated products in the world.

Whiz Gambit is an AI-Powered cleaning and disinfection robot jointly launched by Avalon SteriTech and SoftBank Robotics. It is also the first disinfection robot to achieve Performance Mark by SGS Hong Kong with proven efficacy to eliminate >99% microbial bioburden. Whiz Gambit has been a trusted disinfection partner for many businesses around the world since its launch in 2021, with over 100 of them serving the city’s extensive railway network in Hong Kong. Furthermore, Whiz Gambit has also received a number of international accolades, including being named as an Innovation Honoree (Robotics) at the CES 2022 Innovation Awards.
